Bio: Accomplished, cross-cultural academic professional with extensive experience in legal, medical, financial, and educational settings. Curriculum developer of continuing education and training modules for medical interpreters. Quality Assurance Director for in-person and remote interpreters. Consultant and Policy Advisor to state and city administrators. I've spent the past decade assisting in developing compliant language access plans, interpreter training, staff and provider orientations, programs and services for their LEP patients, clients and families. Director of Multicultural Awareness programs & Services, Curriculum and Training Developer. I train medical interpreters to take and pass the Washington state medical interpreter exam, and/or either of the two national certification exams. I develop continuing education for medical interpreters and the providers they work with, and consult on Language Access issues for health departments, hospitals and other service providers.
